The Diana Donald Scholarship
In honor of the late Diana Donald, the Connecticut Chapter of the American Planning Association is pleased to
announce the availability of this $1,000 scholarship. Diana Donald, who passed away in 1975, was a
Connecticut-based planner who was recognized nationally for her contributions to the profession. At the time of
her passing, at age 40, she was the First Vice President of the American Institute of Planners and was in line to
become President. Her status in the association set an historical precedent for women in planning.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must be a resident of Connecticut or a student at a Connecticut
institution enrolled in a graduate program in planning or a planning-related field. The scholarship then will be awarded
based on the following review criteria:
- The student shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a group and/or the public.
- The student shall demonstrate superior academic skills.
- The student shall demonstrate financial need.
- The student shall demonstrate an intention to pursue a career in planning or a planning related field.
